A navy velvet sectional, gold accents, and circular pendant lighting give this living and dining space its bold, modern energy — proof that a strong color palette can still feel elegant. Use the ideas below to bring the same balance home.
Let Navy and Gold Carry the Room
A navy velvet sectional anchors the seating area, with gold-framed furniture and accents repeating the same metallic thread throughout. Picking one bold base color and one metallic accent — rather than several competing colors — is what keeps a vibrant room from feeling chaotic.
Keep Furniture Lines Clean
The coffee table and side tables use simple silhouettes with gold metal frames instead of heavy or ornate bases, which keeps the bold color palette from feeling overwhelming. Let one or two pieces carry pattern or texture, and keep the rest of the furniture visually quiet.
Use Statement Lighting to Draw the Eye Up
Circular pendant lights and a gold floor lamp add height and visual interest above the seating area, while curtains and greenery soften the room at eye level. A single striking light fixture does more for a room’s personality than several smaller ones.
Design Tips to Recreate This Look
- Play with Bold Color Contrasts: Pair deep blues with vibrant yellows and warm woods for a dynamic yet cohesive palette.
- Incorporate Statement Lighting: Use unique fixtures like circular pendants to add architectural interest and elegance.
- Layer Textures and Materials: Mix plush fabrics, sleek surfaces, and natural elements for depth and warmth.
- Add Greenery: Incorporate a variety of potted plants to bring life and balance to the space.
